Orinda Masonry was founded in 2019 with one goal: deliver quality masonry work that holds up against the specific conditions of East Bay hillside properties. Orinda is not a flat, easy-access suburb. The lots slope, the roads wind, and most of the homes were built in the 1950s through 1970s on clay-heavy soil that expands every wet season and shrinks every dry summer. Working here well takes different skills and planning than working on a flat tract home in the valley.
The company started with a focus on foundation repair and chimney work - the services most in demand on older hillside homes in this area. Over time, the scope grew to cover retaining walls, driveway pavers, tuckpointing, fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, walkways, and more. Every service is approached the same way: assess the local conditions, pull the right permits, and do the work correctly the first time.
Today Orinda Masonry serves 12 cities across Contra Costa and Alameda counties, from Orinda and Lafayette to Oakland and Berkeley. The same attention to local conditions that shaped the business from the start still applies to every project we take on.
